Can you give Zakat for a water pump?
No, you cannot give Zakat for water projects. Zakat is the right of eight categories mentioned in Surah Tawbah in the Quran. It is up to them how they want to spend the money they receive. It is not our choice where we want to spend Zakat, as we are not the owners of that money.
How much does a hand-water pump cost?
Hand water pump costs vary from country to country. It also depends on how deep the clean water resource is. The deeper the underground, the more costly it will be. If Allah has blessed you with wealth, please do not look at the cost, as some of the countries with serious water problems cost way more than the countries where clean water resources aren’t that deep. Insha’Allah, whether you choose to build a water pump in Pakistan or Africa, you will find that our prices are very reasonable.
How long does it take to build a water pump?
6-8 Weeks. Most of the water pumps get built within 6-8 weeks; however, sometimes, due to local issues such as the rainy season or local emergencies like floods, installation can get delayed. Nevertheless, we will keep you informed throughout the process.
Will I receive feedback after the completion of my water project?
As a water charity, we take pride in our communication and our commitment to keeping our water pump donors updated on the progress. Upon receiving your water pump/well donation, we will contact you to provide the location of your water project. Additionally, we will work with you to agree on the design and details of the plaque that will be installed at the water project site.
Is giving water the best Sadaqah?

“When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous son who will pray for him.”

What are examples of sadaqah Jariyah?
Examples of sadaqah jariyah include building a water pump, constructing a Masjid, gifting a Mushaf (Quran), and raising your children in a righteous environment so that when you pass away, they make dua for your maghfirah (forgiveness). What did the Quran say about water?
By means of water, we give life to everything.

And We send down pure water from the sky.

And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped.
