Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Islamic Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Islamic Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Islamic Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Islamic Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Islamic Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Gaza & Palestine Need Our Urgent Support

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As an organisation working in Gaza and Palestine, we are all too aware of the ongoing struggles faced by families in the region. The conflict has led to poverty, displacement and lack of access to basic necessities like food and shelter. Despite the situation improving slightly, there are still many families struggling to make ends meet.

It is important to remember that the conflict in the region has been ongoing for decades, and families have been living under difficult conditions for a very long time. Many have lost their homes, their land and their livelihoods. Children are growing up without access to education and the most basic healthcare.

As an organisation committed to supporting those in need, we are working to provide food aid to families in the region. This aid can make all the difference to a family struggling to put food on the table. But we know that more needs to be done to help families in the region.

We urge you to help us make a difference in the lives of those struggling in Gaza and Palestine. Your donations can help us provide much-needed aid to those in need, and together, we can work towards a better future for all.

Help Us Save Lives in Gaza

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has led to widespread poverty and a lack of access to basic necessities like food, water, and shelter. The situation is dire, and here are just a few of the poverty statistics that highlight the need for humanitarian aid:

  • Over 70% of the population in Gaza live below the poverty line, according to the United Nations.
  • Unemployment rates in the region are among the highest in the world, with over 50% of the population out of work.

By donating to the Gaza Emergency Appeal, you can help provide life-saving food, water, shelter, and financial aid to those in need. Your support can make a real difference in the lives of families struggling to survive in this difficult situation.

Palestine & Gaza Crisis

If there is one conflict on earth everyone knows is the conflict between Palestine and Israel. Over the year this conflict has caused wars and the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Every time there is an increase in tensions between Palestine and Israel, it’s Palestinians who end up picking up the damage and their situation becomes worse than what it was before.

Tents and makeshift homes, for many Gazans this is the life. Gaza has almost zero economy as due to the restrictions opposed by Israel Gaza cannot freely trade with the outside world. Over 2.2 million people are prisoners in their own land. If the people of Gaza do not receive foreign aid from the outside world, deaths will continue to mount up.

Islamic Welfare Trust has a team on the ground in the heart of Gaza delivering life-saving food for the Gazan families. We know we are not big a charity and cannot support thousands of families but with your generous donations, we can make things easier for few hundred families insha’Allah.

Life of an Ordinary Palestinian

Each day, Palestinians are living with the fear of death and the humiliation of strip searches at the hands of Israeli forces. There are thousands of orphans and widows across Palestine. Over 1.8 million people are trapped inside Gaza. Business opportunities are scarce due to Israel’s stronghold in the area. Most of the Palestinian trade is dependent on tourists from other countries.

How can you help people in Palestine?

Since 2010, Islamic Welfare Trust has been helping the people of Palestine. We’ve helped Palestinians with free medical care, food, and water. The situation in Palestine is deteriorating with each passing year, Islamic Welfare Trust needs your continued support to provide urgent relief when needed.

Situation in Gaza

There are almost 2 million people living in confined space of 360-square-kilometer strip of land. The high population density, the economic blockade (which restricts the movement of people and goods into and out of the territory), high levels of poverty and insufficient services make it exceptionally difficult for people to earn a living or access quality healthcare, water, and education.

Over 75% of the Gaza population is dependent on aid from the outside world. Lack of food, clean water, education, and health facilities have taken the area deeper into poverty. Gaza has the world’s highest unemployment rate at over 43%. Over 40% of its population live on £1.30 a day. 2 million people have no or very limited access to clean water and adequate sanitation. Over the years tens of thousands of houses and buildings have been damaged or completely destroyed. The list can go on and on. In short, Gaza is a desperate place to live and without support from the outside world, people will die of starvation and infectious diseases. Donate now to help people of Gaza.

Save the Future of Palestine

Like any country, the future of Palestine relies on the future generation of children. At the moment the majority of the children are malnutrition due to lack of food. Poor hygiene and lack of clean drinking water are big barriers to children’s development. With your help, we can insha’Allah provide regular food packs for the poor & needy families and in the future, we are looking to start helping with medicine and water.

By donating a food pack you can ensure a vulnerable Gazan family is protected from malnutrition and hunger.

How tough is it to survive in Palestine?

For people across the Palestinian Territories, life is incredibly challenging:

  • Over 2.2 million registered refugees live in Gaza and the West Bank (UNRWA, 2019)
  • Around half the population across the Palestinian Territories are in need of humanitarian aid (UNICEF, 2018)
  • Over 1 million people in Gaza are at risk of contracting water-borne diseases (WHO, 2018)
  • At 54%, Gaza has the highest unemployment rate in the world (World Bank, 2018)

These are incredibly tough conditions for anyone to survive. Imagine how hard it must be for families living in these conditions. All this can be changed but unfortunately, some hearts have no mercy inside them. Let us all pray that Allah make matters easy for Palestinians and make this world a safer place for Muslims no matter where they are from. We ask Allah to bring peace and prosperity to Muslim lands especially the holy land of Bait al-Maqdas.
