Help a Muslim Family Living in Poverty – Sponsor a Food Pack

Unfortunately, there are millions of poverty-stricken people around the world who have no choice but to stay hungry until they find food to eat. These people exist everywhere, we just have to look around us. Islamic Welfare Trust works with many communities across Pakistan, Kashmir, Palestine, Indonesia, Rohingya, and Syrian Refugee Camps who don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.

Throughout the year Islamic Welfare Trust supports these communities with monthly food packs. Most of the families receiving these food packs are families with low income, widows, orphans, elderly or students of knowledge from poorer backgrounds.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Islamic Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Islamic Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Islamic Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Islamic Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Islamic Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Donate a Food Pack for Ramadan

One of the biggest things Ramadan teaches us is to appreciate the blessing of food. Unfortunately, there are millions of Muslim families who struggle even during Ramadan for food. Every year before and during Ramadan Islamic Welfare Trust distributes food packs amongst the poor communities in Pakistan, Kashmir, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Gaza and Africa.

Ramadan 2022 Food Pack Appeal

Ramadan is a month of blessings and sharing those blessings with your Muslim brothers and sisters in Need. Ramadan is a month earning multiple rewards by giving in charity to the ones who have less than you.

Last year, with your generous donations we provided food aid for over five thousand Muslims. We distributed over 800 food packs among the poor and needy in Pakistan, Kashmir, Yemen, Gaza, Afghanistan and Syrian Refugee Camps.

This year we are looking to provide food for over 10,000 people. With your donation of £35, we will be able to feed one family of five for the whole month of Ramadan.

What is included in our Food Packs?

Our food packs consist of food that is important to the local diet. We try to include as much nutritional food as we can with the support of local volunteers who knows the local food. Food packages differ from country to country, but all our food packs include essentials like rice, wheat, lentils or oil, and often also sugar, canned fish or meat, and dates.

Sponsor a Food Pack today and take away the worries of a poor Muslim family for a month.

Why are Food Packages so Important?

Our food pack is perfect for a family of 5. There is enough food for the family to last for a month. Our food packs not only help the family with food but it also helps the local economy because the food in each food pack is purchased locally.
