Why is education important for a Child?

Education provides us the flexibility to differentiate between what’s right and wrong. From a very young age, it teaches children about morality, ethics, justice, compassion. Education is the only tool that could resolve all the issues faced by Muslims. The best education any Muslim can have is Islamic Education, where children from very young age understand the purpose of their life and existence.

Through education, a child will have the ability to question if he sees something wrong. Education helps children discover the solutions to any problems and it teaches them how to approach things from several aspects. It makes them more aware and confident.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Islamic Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Islamic Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Islamic Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Islamic Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Islamic Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Donate for Children Education in Pakistan

Did you know, there are…

  • Over 22 millions children aged 5-16 out of school
  • From 22 million: 58% of girls and 42% of boys are not receiving any education
  • These figures are even higher for rural parts

Islamic Welfare Trust is working across Pakistan, providing funds for schools in need to take on children from poorer backgrounds and provide them free education. Donate now towards our education fund to support our work in Education.

Sponsor a Child’s Education in Kashmir

The literacy rate is very low in rural Kashmir. Islamic Welfare Trust alongside its partners and volunteers on the ground are helping children across Kashmir to get into formal education. When we are on the ground visiting the areas if we come across children who are not attending schools then our local team gets in touch with parents and assure them that all expenses for their child’s education will be paid, they just have to make sure that the child attends school on daily basis.

Focus on Girls’ Education

We understand that the girls are behind the boys in terms of education. Therefore, we always give priority to the improvement of girls’ schools and madrasahs. Our aim is to continue supporting existing schools and set up new ones in areas without adequate education facilities. If you are interested in sponsoring a child’s education or would like to build a school in rural areas of Pakistan or Africa, please get in touch with our team who will be able to provide you a complete plan and costings to build a school or sponsor a child’s education
