Somalia is on the brink of a humanitarian crisis
Lack of rain has devastated vegetation and water supplies in Somalia. Hunger is soaring. More than half the country is in need of emergency aid to avoid starvation. According to recent estimates over 5 million people are displaced within Somalia. Over 3 million children are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
Unfortunately, whilst the conflict between government forces and non-state factors continues, the plight of people is becoming worse every day. Like any other conflict women, children, elderly and people with disabilities are the most at risk.
